General Board Positions
Vice President
- Perform specific duties as determined by the president and board
- Represent the President in his or her absence or upon request
- Can be a past president in the role of mentor, or may be an individual learning and training to be future president.
Member at Large
- Serves on the PTA Board as voting member, therefore meeting attendance is vital
- This is a great position to pair with another responsibility and gives you a view of how things work.
- Meets every first Tuesday of the month
- Provides support to the President and Vice Presidents for special events and programs
Advocacy Positions:
Community Outreach
- Neighborhood clean-up
- Coordinate with neighborhood and church- St. Ambrose
- Sit in on Fuller Staff Outreach Committee (twice quarterly) and report back to PTA
Healthy Families
- Seek grants to further Fuller’s health initiatives (for example, Walkers’ Club)
- Promote healthy choices for both students and families
- Work with PTA event planners to ensure healthy snack options are always encouraged
School Improvement Team
- Work with Fuller Staff Magnet committee to magnetize Fuller
- Attend Magnet Committee (twice quarterly) and report back to PTA
Parent Advocate
- Ideally a returning parent
- Act as a resource for parents with questions regarding Fuller and its programs
- Answer questions directly, or help parents know where to find answers
Fundraising Positions:
VP Fundraising
- Responsible for fundraising efforts throughout the year
- Offer support and guidance to other Fundraising Volunteers
- Coordinate No-Fuss Fundraiser and other fundraising programs so that budgetary goals are met or exceeded
- Report the status of fundraising efforts at PTA meetings (every first Tuesday)
- Work with Grant Writing Chair to oversee grant writing programs for the school
No-Fuss Fundraising Coordinator
- Advertise No-Fuss Fundraiser with Fuller community
- Coordinate the intake of funds with Treasurer
- Regularly communicate with Fundraising VP the status of fundraising efforts
Shopping Rewards: Box Tops, Labels for Education, Tyson, Lowes Card, VIC, etc.
- Responsible for sorting and organizing all Box Tops and submitting them to receive reimbursement
- Assist Communications team in advertising Shopping Rewards opportunities with families
Corporate Donations
- Work with a team to acquire corporate donations and sponsors
- Assist the Silent Auction Chair in obtaining items for the Silent Auction
Grant Writing
- Act as a resource for those requesting grants, both Board Members and staff
- Teacher information session regarding grant writing
Programs Positions:
Holiday Staff Luncheon
- Work with Hospitality Committee Chair to coordinate Holiday Staff Luncheon event in December
- Order catered meal
- Prepare media center for event
- Coordinate volunteers to cover classrooms and serve food
- Partner with Treasurer to ensure that funds raised for the event are recorded and deposited
- Be present the day of to ensure a smooth event
Teacher and Staff Appreciation
- Organize monthly appreciation gifts/events for teachers and staff (just something small)
- Organize push-through-the-end-of-quarter coffee mornings for teachers
- Coordinate teacher appreciation week
- Plan ways to celebrate each of the following: National Custodial Appreciation Day, National School Counselor Week, Bus Driver Appreciation Week, School Social Worker Week, Administrative Professional Week, School Principal Day, National School Nurse Day
- Coordinate volunteers to assist with teacher appreciation projects and utilizes baking brigade volunteers as needed for PTA events
Education Committee Chair
- Oversee Cultural Arts and Reflections Art Programs
Special Events Positions:
Fall Festival Food Coordinator
- Work with Fall Festival Chair to coordinate food trucks and other food options for the Fall Festival.
Take Your Family to School Week
- Muffins for Moms (Tuesday morning)
- Doughnuts for Dads (Thursday morning)
- Potluck and Game Night (Friday after school)
Communications Positions:
Volunteer Coordinator
- Manage volunteers to provide support for PTA programs and events
- Contact all interested volunteers via email or telephone and determine which programs/events they would like to help with
- Communicate volunteers to committee chairs and vice presidents
- Maintain volunteer database
- Seek feedback from volunteers after events about what worked and didn’t work for them
- Recognize volunteers for their service
Membership
- Organize membership enrollment for the school
- Collects data and enters member information into PTA database, presents numbers at monthly meetings (First Tuesday of each Month)
- Prints and distributes membership cards and staff signs
Falcon Newsletter
- Compile newsletter entries from staff via email
- Design, write, and publish newsletter
- Oversee printing and distribution of paper newsletter
- Work with Communications VP to distribute electronically and to post on website
Web Admin
- Regularly update PTA website. Does not require programing knowledge.
Other Positions
Finance Committee Members
- Work with Committee Chair to conduct monthly financial reviews
Nominating Committee
- Responsible for actively seeking out candidates for future (and current) officer positions
Baking Brigade
- Group of volunteers to provide baked goods as needed for PTA and Teacher Appreciation events
